crows nest museum, queensland, australia

Crows Nest Folk Museum is a very special place. The moment you walk through the front gate you are transported into another world, the kind of world where you can let your imagination run wild and almost feel as if you were living 100 years ago.

The museum boasts its very own village, every building has been lovingly restored by our army of volunteers who have paid great attention to every detail to make sure that everything is as close to authentic as possible.

The centrepiece of the museum is "Carbethon". This magnificent home built in the late 1880s was moved to Crows Nest in 1978 and was opened as a folk museum in September 1978. The Folk Museum has continued to thrive since its inception and many visitors from all over the world have enjoyed its many offerings.
